Streambank Stabilization

The purpose of this project was to provide a green technique for stabilizing an eroding streambank in conjunction with infrastructure upgrades. The Filtrexx® Living Wall™ system is a tubular netting that is filled in place with a combination of topsoil, hardwood mulch and grass seed. A selection of riparian tree species was planted between each row of Filtrexx®. As a result the combination of structural and vegetative materials will create a stable bank that also offers environmental benefits: pollutant removal, shade for cooler water, wildlife habitat and visual interest.

Key Features:

  • Design consultation
  • Bank stabilization
  • Bioengineering
  • Native trees and shrubs
