Pond Bank Stabilization

The Mall at Lexington Green had been suffering from erosion along its pond banks for several years. The numerous geese that were attracted to the pond had eaten away most of the turf grass and were leaving a mess with their droppings. The result was a case of very poor water quality. Decorative Kentucky native plants along the banks offer a prime example of restoring a balance for sediment control, nutrient management and water quality. The Lexington Green bank stabilization project shows that EcoGro can offer much more than what meets the eye.
